David A. Grantham, Ph.D., is a leading expert in national security matters and international affairs with specializations in Latin America and the Middle East. Dr. Grantham’s expertise engages the nation’s most pressing issues, like terrorism, international security and military affairs. Dr. Grantham’s research offers timely solutions on problems ranging from defense spending and personnel management to terrorist finance and regional security strategies. His work has been featured in a variety of academic journals and media outlets, and he speaks on these issues to audiences nationwide.

Prior to his work at NCPA, Dr. Grantham served as an officer in the United States Air Force and as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). While on active duty, Dr. Grantham conducted and managed counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations and operations, both stateside and abroad. Dr. Grantham led efforts in areas of anti-terrorism, cyber defense and foreign espionage, and deployed twice to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of AFOSI operations.

Dr. Grantham holds a PhD in Modern History from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy University.  He earned his Bachelor of Art in History from University of South Florida in 2004.
