Preparing the Leaders of Tomorrow | NCPA

Preparing the Leaders of Tomorrow

The NCPA supports the leaders and policymakers of tomorrow through programs designed to develop character and keep our youth well informed about important issues facing our nation. We are committed to preparing the next generation of policy scholars through participation in youth programs, such as Debate Central, the NCPA's programs with the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation, and internships and fellowships.

Some NCPA youth programs use debate as a leadership development tool. We believe that the ability to effectively debate opens many doors for students in high school and college who might otherwise not have had an outlet to hone their communication and leadership skills.

Debate Central

Since 1996, we have provided the largest free online resource for debaters, leveling the playing field for tens of thousands of high school students who want to participate in debate but can't afford to pay for it. Visit Debate Central today.

Young Patriots Essay Contest

The National Center for Policy Analysis is proud to offer young Americans the opportunity to win scholarship money to fund their college education through the annual Young Patriots Essay Contest, sponsored by Copart.

The Young Patriots Essay Contest is designed to challenge middle and high school students to creatively engage with public policy and current events through the art of writing.

Each year, we assign a controversial topic and provide relevant readings, then ask students to grapple with these ideas in a short essay.

Out of hundreds of submissions, three winners are chosen to receive $9,000 in total scholarship money.
