About the Economic Policy Forum

The NCPA’s Economic Policy Forum & Author Series features six speakers per year and offers speeches and interviews with a diverse group of interesting, provocative and accomplished academics and authors. Following lunch, NCPA President John Goodman introduces the speaker, who then gives remarks or a presentation. A question-and-answer period follows and guests are invited to participate.

The Forums generally take place at the Pavilion or Belo Hall at Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas.

This new Series is based on a proven model – the NCPA and Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Policy Forum which was funded by the Hillcrest Foundation and Mrs. W.W. Caruth, Sr. From 1997-2004, the Forum presented speakers such as Regina Herzlinger, professor at Harvard University, health care expert and author of Market-Driven Healthcare; Harry Alford, president, CEO and co-founder of the National Black Chamber of Commerce; R. Glenn Hubbard, chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors; and a debate featuring U.S. Representatives Eddie Bernice Johnson and Pete Sessions.
