NCPA Sponsored Episode of DebatesDebates to Air Nationally Starting This Week!
DALLAS (May 10, 2000) – The National Center for Policy Analysis announced today that a new episode of the nationally syndicated program DebatesDebates, a series of programs that are sponsored by the NCPA, will be made available to stations starting today for airing this weekend.
The episode: "Does the Global Warming Treaty Harm Farmers, Small Business and the Urban Poor?" features an all-star cast debating an issue central to the environmental debate. Leading the affirmative team is Fred Smith, director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute. Smith is joined by Thomas Gale Moore, senior fellow with the Hoover Institute; and Robert Mendelsohn, a professor at Yale University.
The opposition team is led by John Passacantando, director of the liberal advocacy group Ozone Action. Passacantando is joined by George Woodwell, director of the Woods Hole Research Center; and Jill Schneiderman, a professor at Vasser College.
