Eagle Forum to host Senate debate in Dallas

The Dallas Eagle Forum on Feb. 22 will host a debate featuring most of the Texas Republican candidates for U.S. Senate.>

The event is scheduled for noon at the Dallas Country Club, 4155 Mockingbird Lane in Dallas.>

Former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz and former SMU standout and businessman Craig James have committed to attend the debate. John Goodman, CEO of the National Center for Policy Analysis, will serve as moderator.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, the frontrunner in the Republican race to replace retiring Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, is not participating in the forum.

Later that day, at the home of Kari and Troy Kloewer, James is being honored at a fundraising reception. The host committee includes Dallas businessman Roy Bailey and NFL Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson.
