Environmentalists have gone too far too fast. That's what a panel of experts will debate during the March 14 taping of Firing Line. William F. Buckley, Jr. will be joined at Rice University in Houston by Senator Larry Craig of Idaho, Jerry Jasinowski, president of the National Association of Manufacturers and Richard Schmalensee, deputy dean of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. All four mean will argue for the resolution, facing off against former California Governor Jerry Brown, Sierra Club President Carl Pope, Time magazine writer Eugene Linden and George Woodwell, president and director of Woods Hole Research Center. Both the debate and two other Firing Line programs will be taped for later broadcasting on more than 200 PBS television stations. The debate is part of National Center for Policy Analysis' Hatton W. Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series.
