I'm Pete du Pont with the National Center for Policy Analysis. I love the democratic outrage over Bush administration radio ads touting his tax plan.
They're outraged because the spots tout the economic benefits of tax cuts, their fairness and morality. The fact they'll jump start the economy.
And because the speaker on the tapes is none other than president John F. Kennedy.
The Kennedy family calls the use of the tapes from 1962 and 1963 dishonest and politically irresponsible, which is baloney, because all Kennedy was doing was speaking the truth on behalf of his own tax cut plan. Unlike today's tist democrats, Kennedy was a genuine centrist and economic realist who understood that lower taxes are good for everybody because they spark growth. Kennedy's tax cuts did just that, as did Reagan's. Bush's will do the same if congress will come to its senses, and not delay putting in the rate reductions.
This is no time for half-measures. As JFK would no doubt agree.
Those are my ideas, and at the NCPA we know ideas can change the world. I'm Pete du Pont, and I'll see you next time.
