More than 50 students from around the world are spending the week learning about leadership at a camp hosted by one of Oklahoma’s most famous leaders, Gen. Tommy Franks.

This is the fifth summer for the Four Star Leadership summer camp, a program co-hosted by Franks, the Academy of Leadership & Liberty at Oklahoma Christian University and the National Center for Policy Analysis.

The students come from across the U.S., Jordan and South Korea. Three are from Oklahoma: Tanner Heath, of Lone Wolf; Cody Milner, of Reydon; and Carson Banks, of Cashion.

The students learn about leadership, policy, debate, writing and speech.

They have had the chance to meet leaders from all different professions, such as Olympic athletes to military leaders to the governor, said Warren Martin, executive director of the Gen. Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum.

The goal is to build leaders of character and morals, regardless of what career field they choose, Martin said.

“It’s about investing in the next generation of leaders directly,” he said.

The camp concludes Friday.
