John Strauss

 John StraussJohn Strauss was born and raised in Buffalo graduating from Canisius College in 1961 and in 1990 received an Honorary Doctor’s Degree from Canisius. John received his MBA from New York University in 1966. His professional career went from being a Securities Analyst in New York City to later moving to Portfolio Management in several investment firms in the New York area and eventually moving to Dallas. John was co-founder of the institutional investment advisory firm of Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney and Strauss. John retired after 20 years to spend his time and energy in various charity activities including board memberships at The Salvation Army, St. Jude Children’s Research Center (Memphis), St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store (in Dallas as current Chairman) and various Investment Committees. His hobbies are reading (especially economics and politics), investing and has an addiction to golf.
