About Louis Freeh

Louis Freeh has been dubbed “the singularly best-suited person in America to run the FBI” by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and “a law enforcement legend” by President Clinton, who appointed him FBI director in 1993.

Freeh is an expert in confronting the security and privacy issues facing Americans in today’s complex world. He’s also an expert on corporate governance and financial disclosure, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Freeh transformed the FBI from a national law enforcement agency to a global security institution, doubling the number of bureau branches worldwide. He also increased the FBI’s focus on counterintelligence, cybercrime, DNA technology and electronic surveillance.

Freeh’s best-selling book, My FBI: Bringing Down the Mafia, Investigating Bill Clinton, and Fighting the War on Terror, chronicles his efforts to reform, fortify and strengthen the bureau while ensuring its freedom from political interference.

Freeh is currently CEO of Freeh Group International, a global consulting enterprise.
