Myths and Realities about Outsourcing

Myths and Realities about Outsourcing

National Center for Policy Analysis Congressional Briefing

Friday, April 2, 2004
10am – 11am
Room 121, Cannon House Office Building
Washington, D.C.

There is a growing backlash against outsourcing – sending domestic work to foreign businesses – and it is spilling onto the floor in Congress. However, there is little information about the effects of outsourcing for workers, employers and the economy: What is outsourcing? What are the costs and benefits of outsourcing? How pervasive is it? Is it ultimately good or bad for the economy? What can Congress do about it?

This is your opportunity to hear experts on economic and employment policy discuss the outsourcing issue from a free-market perspective.
