Due to the growing importance of national policy issues addressed by the National Center for Policy Analysis, the NCPA is expanding, naming James H. Amos, Jr. as President and CEO of the 33 year old, Dallas-based think tank. Former NCPA President/CEO Allen B. West is taking on a more active policy role as Executive Director/Vice Chairman of the NCPA Board of Directors and will continue to serve as a spokesman for the organization.

NCPA Board Chairman Steve Ivy said, “Jim Amos brings a wealth of free-market business expertise and leadership that will support the NCPA’s mission to promote alternatives to government regulation and solve problems through the competitive, private sector.  We are thrilled to have him at the helm.”

Chairman Ivy added, “Col. West is in great demand as a speaker nationwide with about 150 presentations in the past year. This reorganization enables him to continue as a face and voice of the organization, focus on economic and national security policy issues, and lead the NCPA’s fundraising initiatives.”

“It is a great honor to be given a vote of confidence from the Board of Directors of NCPA,” said Amos.  “The opportunity to succeed a great man and still be able to continue to work with him toward a better future is both humbling and challenging.”

James Amos is the former CEO of Mail Boxes Etc. – now The UPS Store, Chairman of the Board of APFI – Procter & Gamble’s franchising initiative, 2011 inductee into the International Franchise Association’s Hall of Fame, and the 2012 recipient of the Nashville Business Legend Award. He has sought to guide entrepreneurs, associates and fellow citizens as a board member, a frequent speaker, blogger, award-winning writer, and past chairman of the International Franchise Association.

Mr. Amos has served or is serving on the boards of The Marine Military Academy, The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, Meineke Car Care Centers, Oreck Corporation, Zig Ziglar Corporation, WSI of Canada, The University of Missouri, SkinPhd, The HealthStore Foundation, Aspen Dental, and The Joint.
