NCPA President recently debated newly appointed Health Reform Deputy Director, Lambrew

Dallas, TX (Dec. 11, 2008) — President-elect Obama has appointed Jeanne Lambrew as Deputy Director of the newly formed White House Office for Health Reform.   In this position, Dr. Lambrew will be a major force in shaping health care policy for the Obama Administration.  Foreshadowing the national policy debate to come about the Obama Administration's health policy, NCPA President John C. Goodman recently debated the pros and cons of various health care reform options with Dr. Lambrew.  Audio of that debate is attached for your information– http://www.ncpathinktank.org/avo/audio/ncpa_audio_40.asx.

Since its inception 25 years ago, the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA) has been a national leader in health care reform debate. Today, NCPA is uniquely positioned to provide fresh ideas, free-market alternatives to plans for more government control that have failed whenever and wherever they have been tested.

  • The NCPA produces resources and analysis about health care reform that can't be found anywhere else.
    • During the 2008 elections, NCPA's Web site had the only comprehensive analysis of the health care plans proposed by the presidential candidates, and a synthesis of those plans.
    • Hours after it became known that Tom Daschle would become the Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Obama Administration, NCPA President John Goodman's review of Daschle's health care reform book was posted.
    • NCPA's Consumer-Directed Health Care Web site features one of the only detailed critiques of the health care plans proposed by members of Congress, including a plan recently proposed by Senator Max Baucus.

NCPA experts have compiled a unique, comprehensive Handbook on State Health Care Reform with practical recommendations and a theoretical foundation for improving S-CHIP, Medicaid and state health insurance markets.
