National Center for Policy Analysis President & CEO Jim Amos released the following statement in response to the vicious libel that has been leveled against Andy Puzder, Chief Executive of CKE Restaurants, which owns Hardees’, Carl’s Jr., Green Burrito and Red Burrito restaurant brands, a franchise system with 3,750 franchised or company-operated restaurants in 44 states and 40 foreign countries and U.S. locations, and a member of the IFA Board of Directors.
“Andy’s nomination to Secretary of Labor by President-Elect Trump inspires hope, but that is because as Secretary of Labor he would truly be an agent to propel economic growth. Andy would curtail the never ending wave of regulations dumped upon small businesses, because he understands how one of the most effective job-creating industries operates.
Donald Trump won the election by focusing on job growth, so it is only appropriate that the Labor Department be helmed by a man who has spent his entire career as an engine of job creation. Andy has proven time and time again of his competence and ability in business.
Puzder works as a CEO of a major franchise company and has suffered the consequences of the wanton regulations imposed by the Obama administration. His outsider perspective would make him one of the more effective Secretaries of Labor in recent memory. A bureaucrat will never be able to match a businessman in job creation.
The vicious and baseless barrage of slander leveled against Andy Puzder by the members of the media and many on the left side of the aisle reveal the level individuals will sink to in order to maintain the status quo even if it smears a good man’s reputation and retards the economic growth of a nation.”
