A 10-year veteran in the communications and public relations field, Sean R. Tuffnell manages the NCPA's communications department. As such, he is responsible for promotion of NCPA research and publications, NCPA scholars, events, briefings and other public policy activities. He is also responsible for supervision and management of all Communications department personnel.

He is also responsible for the management of NCPA special marketing projects – the NCPA E-Team, which focuses on energy and the environment, and the Team NCPA Social Security initiative.

Sean's own commentaries have appeared in several prominent national newspapers, such as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Baltimore Sun, Charlotte Observer, Dallas Morning News, Florida Times-Union, Houston Chronicle, National Review Online, USA Today and the Washington Times .

Prior to joining the NCPA, Tuffnell worked in the media relations office of the Republican National Committee, where he served as one of the party's spokesmen for both print and broadcast media.

Sean received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX, where he was also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi – a national honorary service fraternity. He is a graduate of the Leadership Institute's Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism Schools, and is a member of the Dallas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Sean has been married to Sara Beth Tuffnell for 8 years and has two daughters — Shelby and Sydney. The Tuffnell's home is in Flower Mound, TX.
